Hari Mogoșanu is an astrobiologist with a background in environmental science and systems thinking. Her career bridges research, education, and public engagement — from serving as an analogue astronaut at the Mars Desert Research Station to advising on planetary protection and biosecurity risk analysis for New Zealand’s Ministry for Primary Industries.
An alumna of NASA Ames Research Center, Hari returned to found the New Zealand Astrobiology Network, a charitable trust dedicated to exploring the origins of life, extreme environments, and the search for life beyond Earth. She has led national outreach on Mars exploration, and while at Carter Observatory, she was the lead concept and creative producer for The Navigators, a planetarium film sharing the Pacific’s voyaging heritage.
